#WCW 5 Female Artists I’m loving this week

Posted on October 25, 2017October 25, 2017 by Aziz Mola

The holiday vibe has made it so easy to forget it’s a Wednesday. Yes, we’re in the middle of the week and the other long weekend was just two days ago. But life in Kenya seems to really evolve around politics – story for another day.

Anyways, I’ve been feeling some really cool vibes today and decided to share a few of the artists I am listening to this week. Since it’s a Wednesday I’ll leave the men on the list for another day and stick to the top five female artists I am listening to today. Maybe we share the same vibes with some of you.

  1. Phy

I’ve been a fan of Phy for a long time and for a very large period of that time Taboo was my favorite jam then she went on Jamhuri sessions and gave us this song.

“An emotive message to a loved one, who seems not to reciprocate the love, through words and melodies. Giving in to the possibility of lost love, Phy churns out her original composition, “JIPE SHUGHLI” accompanied by Tom Olang’o on the acoustic guitar and Joe Mutoria on the keyboard.”

2. Idyl

You know how you find a new Youtube channel and binge watch like all the videos? No? Don’t think I am the only one who does this.

I found out about this lovely lady, Idyl, as I was binge watching Sofar Sounds videos and listened to her cover of Lost on You. And the rest as they say is history.

3. The Internet

I’d like to than a lovely lady called Ivy for this. Never heard of them before ( I know, which rock was I living under) but now I am a major fan.

The Internet is an American band from Los Angeles, California. It currently consists of Syd, Matt Martians, Patrick Paige II, Christopher Smith, and Steve Lacy. They have released three studio albums and three extended plays since its formation in late 2011. The band’s 2015 album Ego Death was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

4. Mahalia

I think I’ve listened to this song a little too much but hey, you can’t blame me. It is good. Can cupid shoot that shot now, I’d move wherever for Mahalia. 🙂

5. Yaeji

This slot belonged to Jorja Smith but I can’t stop listening to this song by Yaeji.

That’s all for today folks. Have a lovely Wednesday. Keep the vibes positive as we go into the elections. Love and light
